Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

Today marks the 80th anniversary of the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. We pause to honor and remember the 2,403 service members and civilians who died during the attack in Hawaii Dec. 7, 1941. The attack also injured 1,178 people and damaged or destroyed 19 Navy ships and hundreds of Navy and Army Air Corps aircraft. The day after the attack, the United States declared war on Japan and so entered World II.
